The II RG65 Brazilian Nationals is coming and the BarraVela Fleet wants to make it beautiful. The last changes ware made on the Indiana beach. This week we made the pilot stand with the help of many of BarraVela members. If it is not the state of art, it was made with all efforts and I believe that it will work perfectly to the championship. We will make some adjustments on security latter this week. Take a look at the pictures and leave your comments.

Some time ago I won a Laser RC. I used it just one time and with space problem at home I gave it to Ricardo Suzini. Suzini made an excelent work on refurbishing the boat and today we could see it on water again. I wish we could have more of them, it must be great to see some races with that boat.

BarraVela championship gets herder

The fight for the RG65 BarraVela ranking is was hard last Sunday. With 13 boats on the Rio de Janeiro’s waters happen the Fraternity Tournament. It was the harder race of the year, the winds that started the day at 4 knots reached more than 11 knots at the end of the races.
On the first races of the day the Puma from Belluco, VIC from Felipe Rezende and Maximus from Ricardo Suzini changed in the top positions. After the 4th race the Puma had electrical problems and got out of the challenge. Sérgio Cunha with Rãneibeibi that is very regular sailed with the leaders taking a lot of work to them. Eduardo Rezende showed that the new Rogue can beat the top boats, and won one of the races of the day. Eduardo Miranda with the new Teic Rizi is getting better day by day and he has a good boat to fight for winnings. The news came from Basílio with the Rizada that sailed on the top and didn’t win a race because he miss the B and C sails qhen the winds got harder. Pedro with the new Mutante started to show that with a good equipment can do it better. Renê lost the concentration during the races and had a bad day as Ricardo Fidalgo that is struggling to control the new boat. Gilberto and Márcio are looking for the best adjustments for their boats. On this regatta we had a presence of a new member Mauro that is starting on the hobby. It is always good to have new people with us, welcome!!
Going back to the races when the winds got harder many of the competitors had difficulty to manage their boats without B and C sails. The Belluco’s Puma won one race using B sails on the last up wind over Basílio using A sails and without any control on the “submarine”.
When the winds got even harder making the competitors to change to C sails just 6 boats whet to the water and despite of all adversity Felipe Rezende won the day. Ricardo Sizini got the second place for just one poit but assumed the first place on the overall ranking leaving Felipe n the second place. On third place Sérgio Cunha that is used to be on the podium. Belluco that was the leader of the overall ranking got just the sixth place and went to third on the ranking. This shows how tied is the ranking.
This was the last tournament before the Nationals. Now it is time to training to make it on the Brazilian Nationals!!
